Understanding crime and the criminal justice system also opens pathways to professional practice. Careers in criminal justice allow individuals to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts.

The criminal justice field offers diverse career pathways across law enforcement, courts, and corrections. Professionals including police officers, detectives, forensic specialists, probation officers, attorneys, judges, correctional officers, victim advocates, and crime analysts work collaboratively to maintain public safety, administer justice, and support communities through prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation efforts.
