Pre-Flight Planning (Level I Awareness)
The RPIC leads mission planning. Level I personnel should understand:
- Mission objectives
- Planned flight altitude and path
- Inspection targets
- Safety buffers
- Emergency procedures
Understanding the plan ensures effective data collection and communication.
Pre-Task Safety Briefings
Before inspections, teams should conduct a briefing covering:
- Scope of work
- Identified hazards
- Roles and responsibilities
- Communication protocols
- Stop-work authority
Level I technicians have stop-work authority if unsafe conditions arise.
