Pro Tips for Cooling System Maintenance

Inspect condenser and evaporator coils regularly for dirt buildup.
Check refrigerant levels using the superheat and subcooling method.
Ensure proper airflow by inspecting ductwork and vents.
Test for refrigerant leaks before recharging a system.
Monitor compressor performance for unusual noises or excessive cycling.
Verify thermostat accuracy and recalibrate if needed.
Inspect electrical connections for corrosion or loose terminals.
Perform a full system evacuation before recharging refrigerant.

    HVAC Cooling System Maintenance Checklist

Check and clean air filters every 1-3 months.
Inspect and tighten electrical connections to prevent arcing.
Lubricate fan motors and bearings if applicable.
Test defrost cycles on refrigeration systems.
Check the condensate drain line for blockages.
Measure system pressures with a manifold gauge set.
Ensure proper refrigerant recovery when servicing systems.
Examine expansion valves for proper operation and potential restrictions.
Calibrate the thermostat for accurate temperature control.
Inspect blower fans and belts for wear and proper tension.
