    What is Trade Math?
Trade math is the math you’ll use on the job as an HVAC technician. It’s not complicated, but it’s essential. You’ll use it to measure, calculate, and solve problems quickly and accurately.

    Why Is It Important?

    • To measure lengths of pipes, ducts, or wires.
    • To calculate how much cooling or heating a system needs.
    • To convert units like feet to inches or Celsius to Fahrenheit.

    Math Basics You Should Know:

    1. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
    2. How to use fractions and decimals.
    3. How to read a tape measure.
