As I approach the truck I am looking for
- Fluid leaks; not puddles of water, oil, or fuel
- Truck is sitting level side to side and front to rear
- 1. Headlights; lenses are clear, clean, not broken or missing
- 2. Clearance and signal lights; lenses are clean, amber in color, not broken or missing
Engine Compartment (passenger side):
- 1. Washer fluid level is adequate
- 2. Coolant level between the min and max marks
- No hose leaks; fuel, oil or water
- No air leaks
Engine Compartment (driver side):
- 1. Engine oil level; between the add and full marks
- 2. Power steering fluid; between the min and max marks, no hose leaks
- No hose leaks; fuel, oil or water
- No air leaks
Steering System:
- 1. Steering box; securely mounted, no loose or missing nuts and bolts, no leaks
- 2. Steering hoses and connections not cracked, worn or leaking
- 3. Pitman Arm
- 4. Drag link
- 1. Upper steering arm (lower is not visible in this picture)
- 2. Tie rod
- Inspect that there are no missing nuts, bolts or cotter keys
- Inspect that the joints and sockets are not worn or loose
