AI-Enhanced Instructional Modules on Canvas Commons
All 23 modules are shared publicly on Canvas Commons under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. The full set is also available as one complete collection.
ADHS: Assessment and Screening in Substance Use Services (AI-Enhanced)
Students test an AI explanation of a substance use screening tool (AUDIT, CAGE, DAST-10 or CRAFFT) against the official documentation, then screen a written client vignette. Includes readings and tool documentation, two assignments with rubrics, and a knowledge check.
Administration of Justice (AI-Enhanced)
Students compare an AI-drafted police report with an officer-written one and weigh the ethics of AI in policing, from report writing to gunshot detection and predictive tools. Includes an AI policy, sample reports, and two assignments with rubrics.
Students explore artwork and spirituality with a PlayLab chatbot, then write an AI-supported formal analysis of an everyday object using four ways of investigating art. Includes an AI use policy, a method page, a model analysis, and a rubric.
Athletic Training (AI-Enhanced)
Students compare sports-injury answers from several AI platforms, then use AI to help build and defend a rehabilitation protocol for a practice patient case. Includes two assignments with rubrics and a full assessment tool.
Biology: Anatomy and Physiology Sample Materials (AI-Enhanced)
Materials from an online anatomy course: an AI policy, a team discussion on cell learning objectives, and an AI-aware written exam with a rubric that asks students to check AI answers against the textbook.
Business and Entrepreneurship: Target Market with AI (AI-Enhanced)
Students use AI to draft a target market and customer profile for a product or service, then check its suggestions against free market research sources. Includes sample business ideas and a rubric.
Business and Marketing: From Idea to Business (AI-Enhanced)
Students prompt, critique and improve an AI business analysis (SWOT and value proposition), then write a first business pitch. Includes a key-concepts reading page, two assignments with rubrics, and a quiz.
CNA / Nursing: Roles and Scope of Practice (AI-Enhanced)
Nurse assistant students test AI answers about what a CNA may and may not do, then analyze three scope-of-practice case scenarios. Includes core readings, two assignments with rubrics, and a 20-question knowledge check.
College Composition: AI-Assisted Research Paper (AI-Enhanced)
A research paper sequence with an AI policy, a Devil's Advocate chatbot for testing counterarguments, a topic list, a detailed rubric, and a peer review activity.
Computer Science: Java Inheritance (AI-Enhanced)
An AI use policy and a Java inheritance and polymorphism assignment that allows guided AI help, requires an AI usage log, and describes a course chatbot. Includes a rubric and free Java readings.
Early Childhood Education: Safe and Nurturing Environments (AI-Enhanced)
Students analyze a written preschool classroom case from a child's point of view with AI help, then evaluate and redesign a real space. Includes readings and frameworks (NAEYC), two assignments with rubrics, and a concept check.
EMS: Anatomy and Physiology for Emergency Care (AI-Enhanced)
EMS students trace patient crises through the cardiovascular, respiratory and nervous systems with AI help and check the AI against the textbook. Includes readings and key concepts, two assignments with rubrics, and a knowledge check.
Emergency Medical Services: AI Medication Mechanism Explainer (AI-Enhanced)
An EMS AI policy and an assignment in which students use a pharmacology chatbot to explain how an emergency medication works, then fact-check it against drug references. Includes a rubric.
Environmental Science: Primary Literature and Study Guides (AI-Enhanced)
An AI policy, Chapter 15 study guide resources with a study-support chatbot, and a primary literature assignment with clear rules for how to use and not use AI to find sources. Includes a rubric.
Fire Science: AI Fire Spread Prediction (AI-Enhanced)
Students predict wildfire behavior for a scenario, compare their prediction with sample AI spread-model output, and critique AI decision support. Includes an AI policy, sample outputs, and two assignments with rubrics.
Fire Behavior and Ecological Roles (AI-Enhanced)
Students interrogate AI explanations of wildland fire behavior against the NWCG Incident Response Pocket Guide, then write a field report on a real wildfire. Includes readings, two assignments with rubrics, and a concept check.
Library Science: Background Reading and Keyword Searching (AI-Enhanced)
Discussions on background reading and keyword searching, an optional research-topic chatbot, an AI policy, and a key-concepts page on keywords and Boolean searching.
Microbiology and Human Physiology (AI-Enhanced)
An AI policy, two extra-credit reflections on learning with AI (including setting up a tutor-mode chatbot), and an AI-supported experimental design assignment with a rubric.
Psychology: Introduction to Psychology Projects (AI-Enhanced)
Three projects: an AI syllabus statement, an exploratory AI activity for Chapter 1, and an AI-supported data and graphing assignment with a rubric and APA citation guidance.
Therapeutic Relationships in Nursing (AI-Enhanced)
