    Critical Thinking Questions

    1. AutoML makes it easy for non-experts to build ML models. Is this entirely positive, or could it lead to problems? Discuss risks like deploying models without understanding them, ignoring data quality, overlooking bias, and the "black box" problem. What safeguards should organizations implement?

    2. A bank uses a deep learning model for loan approvals that is highly accurate but unexplainable. A regulator asks the bank to explain why a specific applicant was denied. Using SHAP or LIME, describe how the bank could provide this explanation. Should unexplainable models be prohibited for high-stakes decisions?

    3. Compare centralized analytics (traditional data warehouse) with data mesh (decentralized domain ownership). A large enterprise with 20 departments is considering data mesh. What organizational prerequisites must be in place for data mesh to succeed? What could go wrong?

    4. Privacy-preserving techniques (differential privacy, federated learning) add noise or complexity that can reduce model accuracy. Is this trade-off acceptable? For what use cases is privacy worth a 5-10% accuracy reduction? For what use cases is it not?
