    Tessa C. Andrews, PhD.

    I am a professor of genetics and my group studies individual and organizational changes that support the uptake and effective use of evidence-based teaching strategies. I took the lead on investigating the DeLTA project, alongside graduate student researchers and the larger team. The research team led the development of research-based tools, such as the Guides for Advancing Teaching Evaluation, and investigations of how departments changed their evaluation practices, what facilitated those changes, and other outcomes that participants experienced. Research and change theory informed the design and implementation of DeLTA and lessons learned in implementation informed the research.

    Peggy Brickman, PhD.

    I am a professor of plant biology with a long-standing interest in professional development for faculty. I’ve worked with faculty and facilitators in the DeLTA project to both improve their instructional design, reflect on their teaching and assessments, and work together to improve student learning. I have also supported faculty in advancing how they document their teaching effectiveness for annual review, promotion, and tenure. I co-designed the curriculum, activities, and facilitation guides for the content in this course.

    Erin L. Dolan, PhD.

    I am a professor of biochemistry and molecular biology and my research group studies how STEM research training environments influence undergraduate and graduate students’ career decisions. My group also studies research mentoring and I facilitate professional development for graduate students, postdoctoral associates, and faculty to advance their mentoring skills. I took the lead on shepherding university level policy changes for the DeLTA project. I also served as a sounding board for the design of this course and occasional facilitator during its implementation.

    Paula Lemons, PhD.

    I am a professor of biochemistry and molecular biology and my research group studies learning and instruction in biochemistry with a focus on how students build and apply knowledge about core concepts. I also serve as an administrator in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences with a focus on developing innovative, high-quality academic programs. I took the lead with the LAT. I recruited and oriented new department heads to the project, facilitated LAT meetings, and provided tailored support to departments as they revised their teaching evaluation practices.
