Now that we have examined the structure of the courts in the United States, and examined the role of the judges within them, it is time to look at the other two key court system roles namely prosecution and defense. We will first look at the party that represents the people of their jurisdiction—not just the victim. The role of bringing the case forward on behalf of the people lies with the prosecution.
