Thinking Like a Procurement and Project Leader
These questions are intended to help you step back from the mechanics of procurement and reflect on the decisions, tradeoffs, and responsibilities involved in executing an outsourcing strategy. Responses should demonstrate insight, honesty, and professional reasoning rather than simply restating what was done.
1. From Strategy to Execution
How did your thinking change as you moved from the outsourcing strategy in Milestone 1 to the procurement execution plan in Milestone 2? What assumptions were challenged or refined?
2. Procurement as a Delivery Enabler
Which procurement decisions in your plan most directly influenced service delivery outcomes such as quality, schedule reliability, or risk reduction? Why?
3. Managing Uncertainty
Which parts of the procurement and solicitation process felt most uncertain or difficult to define? How did your team account for that uncertainty in your plan?
4. Risk Ownership and Accountability
Which risks concerned you the most once the outsourcing decision became executable? How did your procurement strategy and governance processes address those risks?
