Thomas Padron

Dr. Thomas C. Padron is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator in the Department of Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism at California State University, East Bay in Hayward, CA, and an Instructor of Hospitality Management at the College of Marin in Novato, CA, and has been a hospitality educator for over 18 years.

He has held positions including Chef, Sous Chef, Banquet Chef, Director of Catering, Foodservice Director, Foodservice Manager, and other positions. Dr. Padron completed his Ph.D. at Capella University in the College of Business and Technology with a Doctorate in Business Organization & Management with a specialization in Leadership. He has a Master’s degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management with a specialization in Education, a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management with a concentration in Food & Beverage, both from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and two Associates degrees, one in Culinary Arts and the other in Food Service Production from Madison Area Technical College.

Dr. Padron is a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE), a Certified Guest Service Professional (CGSP) through the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute, and a Certified Wedding Planner (CWP) through The Bridal Society (TBS). He is an active member of the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (ICHRIE). Other memberships include the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), Meeting Professionals International (MPI), International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), California Restaurant Association (CRA), and the National Restaurant Association (NRA).
