The filter group contains controls for Slicer and Timeline Filters. These are associated with Pivot Tables. Inserting a Timeline or Slicer allows the user to place visual controls to be associated with a Pivot Table to change the data being displayed. Since this book does not go into detail in Pivot Tables, this will be the extent of the information shared on this subject.
