    Workshop Mapper

As we've discussed previously, by creating and sticking to a map of some kind will help keep you organized in your OER creation process. There is no one way to map out an OER, as everyone is a little different in their creation process and requirements for what they are trying to create. For this workshop, we've created a sample for you to try. Feel free to use all or parts. Whether you adapt or remix it to create a mapping of your own, here are some things to keep track of while you build your map.

    Things to Map
    • Learning outcomes
    • Creative Commons license type
    • Links to sections of OER in LibreTexts
    • Chapter/section titles
    • Summary for chapter/sections
    • Chapter/pages that will be original content
    • Timeframes

If you are authoring with someone, or have a research assistant, having this document shared in Office 365 or Google Drive can be helpful for collaboration.

    Course Planning and Mapping

In this example, this mapper helps outline not only the needs of a course but also where the OER would fit in the weekly class progression through the term.
