Now that you have had experience building a spreadsheet, the next steps are to incorporate formulas that will quickly return the information you request.

In the Public Expenses by Quarter, you will learn to average string of numbers quickly. From a group of numbers, you will be able to find the largest and smallest number in just a few stokes as well as the ability to count how many numbers are in a column.

In the Sales Calculation, you will learn about Relative Referencing and Absolute Referencing.

    Learning Outcomes: The student will:

    • Apply AVE, MAX, MIN, Count features
    • Understand the difference between relative and absolute referencing
    • Apply the absolute referencing to find “What If?”
    • Understand the Order of Precedence when it comes to creating complex formulas

    Tasks and Assignments:

    1. Public Expenses by Quarter. Student is introduced to new formulas, (AVE, MAX, MIN, COUNT) and these apply these formulas. (20 points)
    2. Relative Referencing and Absolute Referencing: Read this informational
    3. Sales Calculation. Developed a formula to answer the question “What If?” What if analysis is a decision-making tool in which data is changed and formulas ae recalculated, in order to predict various possible outcomes. (20 points)

    Submitting your work:

    1. When completing each task, make sure to save your document to the desktop or your personal storage unit (memory stick, jump drive, etc.)
    2. Click on the underlined word(s) at the top of each assignment. An “emaillike” format appears with the number of points possible in the upper left corner.
    3. Find a box “Browse My Computer.” Click on that and find your saved document.
    4. Click Submit.
