    Executing and Monitoring the Project

    C-Bay Inc. has officially kicked off development of the NovaMed Software Platform, a secure task management system for healthcare environments. To meet aggressive timelines and access specialized engineering capacity, C-Bay has outsourced product development to an external vendor: WinSoft Systems, a global software firm with experience in healthcare IT.

    You—acting as the C-Bay project team—are now entering the execution phase. Your job is to monitor progress, identify warning signs early, and respond professionally to emerging challenges.

    NovaMed is a high-stakes initiative. The Steering Committee is watching closely. And development is moving fast.

    🔧 Objectives

    In this milestone, you will:

    • Monitor performance using real-time project data (schedule, budget, and earned value)

    • Interpret status reports, performance indices (SPI, CPI), and stakeholder feedback

    • Receive memos simulating actual project breakdowns from Week 3–6 of development

    • Craft structured responses including corrective actions, escalation, and updates

    • Reflect on leadership judgment, communication, and decision-making under pressure

    Executing and Monitoring the Project

    You’ve scoped the work. You’ve planned the timeline. You’ve built the budget. But now the project is live.

    In this milestone, you enter the project execution phase of C-Bay’s NovaMed Software initiative—a high-priority healthcare task management system being developed in partnership with WinSoft Systems, an external vendor. You are no longer just building the plan. You are leading it forward.

    Execution is where things get real.

    🎯 What You’ll Do

    You’ll act as the project team at C-Bay responsible for:

    • Monitoring progress based on weekly status reports and deliverable tracking

    • Evaluating SPI, CPI, and Earned Value performance data

    • Responding to simulated execution-phase issues delivered via project memos

    • Crafting professional updates for stakeholders, sponsors, and vendor managers

    • Implementing adjustments when performance breaks from plan

    You will receive a series of 6–8 memos representing real-world project complications. Your task is to interpret these messages, assess the data, and propose leadership-level responses using tools like:

    • Project status reports

    • Corrective action plans

    • Schedule/budget realignment

    • Email briefings and escalation protocols
